About Us

THE STORY

Actual foods is a story about saving oneself.

Hello, my name is Steffy Amondi. For as long as I can remember, I have struggled with my weight. It was incredibly difficult to gain weight. I had tried multiple diets and watched all the videos. I knew I wasn't thinking about food right. But I didn't know exactly what nutritional deficiencies I had and which caloric requirements it would take to achieve the health I wanted.  When I went to see my dietician, I was desperate. All I wanted was to be told what to eat and for how long and where to get it ready. I wanted my dietician to prescribe the food to me just like my doctor would prescribe pills. But such a place did not exist. So I decided to create it.

THE VISION

Actual Foods Foods is not yet another trendy meal-kit service. We really do believe food is medicine. And it should be treated as such. We may start with most the common food prescription- An apple a day keeps the doctor away.

In time however, we hope to deliver meals that are personalized towards various illnesses such as diabetes, IBS or even cystic fibrosis.

We aim to be the standard for meals targeted to specific medical conditions to achieve better health outcomes.

THE MISSION

The food system is broken. But you already knew that. Not only are we consuming foods that are quite literally killing us slowly, but there are those who can't even afford  this basic need.

Actual Foods wants to fix that by bringing back food into the healthcare conversation, sustainability into the food supply chain and eliminating equality into the food distribution. Again, Food is medicine. Which could also mean, prevention is better than cure.
